Laverne Moffett Davidson, 95, of Savannah, passed away on Saturday, Aug. 27. She was born on Dec. 9, 1926, in Hardin County, the daughter of the late Charles R. and Ivy Godwin Moffett.

Mrs. Moffett Davidson retired from Brown Shoe Company after working there for many years. She went on to work for Hardin County RSVP as a receptionist for several years after her retirement. She was a member of New Life United Pentecostal Church in Savannah. She loved God, her church and her family. In her spare time, she enjoyed cooking, canning and spending time with her grandchildren.

She is survived by her daughters, Patricia Dicus of Savannah, and Paula Plunk of Bethel Springs, Tennessee; son, Hardy Davidson and his wife Lavenia of Savannah; grandchildren, Chantil Jeffreys, Terry Dicus, Joe Davidson, Steve Davidson, Casey Davidson and Luke Davidson; 10 great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Vallie Dee Moffett; and sisters, Geraldine Bradford, Pauline Cornelius, Charlie Mae Moffett and Billie Jean Hall.

Services were held on Saturday, Sept. 3, at New Life United Pentecostal Church in Savannah. Burial followed at Morris Chapel Cemetery in Morris Chapel, Tennessee.
