Linda Juanita Elkins Hightower, 82, of Savannah, passed away on Monday, Aug. 8., in Nashville. She was born on Nov. 25, 1939, in Crockett County, Tennessee, the daughter of the late John Vester and Grace Miller Elkins.
On July 16, 1959, she was united in marriage to Lawrence Larry Hightower, who survives.
Linda worked as a secretary for Bill Hammond’s Plumbing in Jackson, Tennessee. She moved to Hardin County in 1992 and was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church in Savannah. Linda enjoyed sewing, gardening and taking care of her family.
She is survived by her husband of 63 years, Larry Hightower of Savannah; grandchildren, Melissa Hightower, Ricky Hightower and his wife Shelby, Shelby Boepker and Jacob Hightower; great-grandchildren, River Bell, Wyatt Hightower, Jace Hightower and Waylon Hightower; brother, John Elkins of Arizona; and nephew, Jonathan Elkins of Jackson, Tennessee.
In addition to her parents, Linda was preceded in death by her sons, Ricky Hightower, Joey Hightower and Larry Dale Hightower and her brother, Glenn Elkins.

Services were held on Saturday, Aug. 13, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah. Burial followed at Rocky Springs Cemetery in Jackson, Tennessee.
