Lisa Gail Mabry Jones, 67, of Savannah, passed away on Friday, Sept. 8, at Magnolia Regional Health Center, surrounded by her family. She was born on Jan. 11, 1956, in Savannah, the daughter of the late Bill and Dorothy Mabry.

Ms. Jones was a lifelong resident of Savannah and was a member of the Mt. Zion Church of Christ. Lisa had two children, Chad and Leigh Ann, and dedicated her life to them.

She was an avid sports fan, teacher, coach, mentor and loving friend. Lisa received numerous awards throughout high school, including “All District” and “All Region” player. She continued her basketball skills at Ole Miss, where she played as a Lady Rebel in the 1974-1975 season. She later received her education degree at the University of North Alabama. She was a coach and teacher to many in the Hardin County School system. One of Lisa’s passions was golf, where she attained many titles, including the Junior Amateur Champion. Coach Jones coached the Lady Tigers from 1988 until 1994. Not only did she have an 87% winning percentage, but she also received the “District Coach of the Year”.

While at Hardin County High School, she also received the state Math Teacher of the Year. She also served on the Tennessee State Board of Probation and Parole and served on the State Board of Employment Appeals. Lisa was a life-long, dedicated Ole Miss fan.

She had the joy of watching her son marry his wife Stephany and the addition of two incredible grandchildren, Stryder and Mabry Jones.

She is survived by her brother John Mark Mabry.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother Ken; and her sister Vicki.
