Lonnie Nolan Blakney, 89, of Scotts Hill, passed away on Monday, Sept. 5. He was born in Counce on Sept. 8, 1933, and is the son of the late Edo and Ora Lee Blakney.

Mr. Blakney served in the United States Army. He worked in Chicago as a construction worker with many other side jobs including snow plowing in the winter and driving big machinery. He married his wife, JoAnn on July 3, 1954, in Corinth, Mississippi.

He enjoyed raising his family, eating out at restaurants and farming. He loved being outdoors and enjoyed fishing. He served the Lord, alongside his wife, at Bridgeview Church of God, in Bridgeview, Illinois, for over thirty years.

He is survived by his wife, JoAnn; his daughters Teresa Collins (Matthew) and Fayela Gisele Blakney; his son Jeffrey Blakney (Delinda); his grandchildren, Penny Taylor McCaslin (Doug), Tiffany Koelsch, Bethany McCullough (Jared), Brock Blakney, Jase Blakney, Luke Blakney and Colton Blakney; his great-grandchildren , Sky Koelsch, Mia Koelsch, Lili Koelsch, Isabela Koelsch, Coy McCullough and Cash McCullough; uncle, Teddy Battles; brother-in-law, Archie Hall; and many other family members and friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Vernon Blakney.

Graveside services were held on Thursday, Sept. 8, at Henderson County Memory Gardens. Pafford Funeral Home of Lexington, Tennessee, was in charge of arrangements.
