Louise Ponds Bridges, 95, of Savannah, passed away on Friday, Aug. 19, in Savannah. She was born in Saltillo, on Oct. 4, 1926, the daughter of the late John Thomas and Gracie Ann Austin Ponds.

On July 27, 1945, she was united in marriage to Vannie Nuell Bridges, who preceded his wife in death on April 16, 2008.

Mrs. Bridges worked for 30 years in the service department at Sears department store and also had worked for Walmart. She was a member of Hopewell Baptist Church. In her spare time she loved to fish, go bowling, mow her yard and work in the garden.

She is survived by her daughter, Carolyn Davidson, of Savannah; grandchildren, Johnny Bonee and Joe Bonee; great- grandchildren, Jared Bonee, Quaid Bonee, Zack Bonee, and Shelby Bonee; and her brother, Lloyd Parker Ponds of Hamilton, Alabama.

In addition to her parents and husband, Louise was preceded in death by one infant great-grandson; two sisters, Dorothy Jackson and Mary Lou McCall; and two brothers, John Earl Ponds and Thomas Ponds.

Services will be held on Monday, Aug. 29, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with the Rev. Randy Isbell and Billy Joe Kennedy officiating. Burial will follow at Milledgeville Cemetery in Milledgeville, Tennessee.
