Lucille Melson Banks, 76, of Savannah, passed away on Friday, Feb. 24, the daughter of the late Pony and Rachel Phillips Melson.

She was united in marriage to William Russell Banks, who preceded his wife in death.

Mrs. Banks moved to Hardin County in the early 1950s.

She is survived by her daughter, Rachel Banks Johnson of Savannah; sisters, Hazel of Corinth, Mississippi, and Mae Doyle of Olive Hill, Tennessee; brothers, Dolby Melson, Robert Melson and Goose Melson, all of Savannah; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Andrew Melson, Buddy Lee Melson, Norman Melson, Johnny K. Melson and Daniel Melson; and grandparents, John Andrew Jackson Melson and Rachel Melson.

Memorial services were held on Tuesday, Feb. 28, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Geneva Middleton officiating. Burial followed at Mt. Hebron Cemetery in Collinwood, Tennessee.
