Lucy Smith (8-1-22) service (8-3-22)

Lucy Jean Smith, 75, of Counce, passed away on Monday, Aug. 1, in Adamsville. She was born in Grenada, Mississippi, the daughter of the late Prentiss Calvin and Ollie Orene Mooney Searcy.

Mrs. Harris was united in marriage to Edward Ray Smith, who survives. She worked as a financial officer for Tennessee River Federal Credit Union. She was a founding member and secretary for the District 3 Community Center in Counce.

She is survived by her husband, Edward Ray Smith; children, Tammy Jeannette, John Christopher Wilbanks and JanaRaye Talley; sister, Betty Jo Biggs; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents, Lucy was preceded in death by her sons, Timothy Joe Ellis and Tommy O’neal Ellis; and brother, Jimmy Dale Searcy.

In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations in Lucy’s memory be sent to District 3 Community Center, P.O. Box 300, Counce, Tennessee, 38326.

Services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 3, at Pickwick Church of Christ in Counce, with Chance Steen officiating. Burial followed at White Sulphur Cemetery in Pickwick.
