Margaret Faye Brooks Franks, 77, of Savannah, passed away peacefully on Sunday, Jan. 8. She was born on Oct. 3, 1945 in Hardin County, the third of four children of James and Maxine Brooks. She was united in marriage to Max Franks on June 26, 1965, who preceded her in death. She and Max were affectionally called the “dynamic duo” as they were always together and ministering to others.

Mrs. Franks worked at Brown Shoe Company before having children. She was an amazing seamstress, artist, cook and mother. She was actively involved in her church. She always made sure the family met for Sunday dinners for as long as she was able. She loved her family dearly.

She is survived by her older brother, Jimmy Brooks and wife Janice of Sardis; her son, Joel Franks and wife Sabrina; her daughter, Amy Franks Forakis and husband Jim, and five grandchildren, who she was affectionally know to them as Mimi; O’Neal Franks and wife Amelia, Joshua Forakis and wife Sally, Demetrius Forakis and wife Katie Beth, Spencer Denmon and Joseph Forakis.

She was preceded in death by her sister, Doris Jean Brooks Clement; and a brother, Bryan Brooks.

Margaret’s wish for her life was to leave happy trails.

Services were held on Friday, Jan. 13, at Love and Truth Church in Savannah, with A. J. Fowler officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
