Margaret Blanton Patton, 81, of Adamsville, passed away on Tuesday, Oct. 4. She was born on Aug. 6, 1941, in Hardin County, and is the daughter of the late Parvin Carter and Mary P. Dill Blanton.

On Sept. 15, 1966, she was united in marriage to Ernest Lee Patton, who preceded his wife in death on Sept. 1, 2012.

Mrs. Patton was self-employed as a hairdresser. She was a member of Adamsville Freewill Baptist Church in Adamsville and the Savannah Art Guild. She loved art and sharing it with others. She would enter many art shows where she would often win ribbons. She was also a huge animal lover and loved her dogs and cat. She loved her family and was always willing to help them. She built a strong relationship with her nephew, Thomas, and thought of him as a brother.

She is survived by her nephews, Thomas Blanton, Billy Blanton, and James Hamm; and niece, Linda Blanton.

In addition to her parents and husband, Margaret was preceded in death by her sister, Katherine Blanton Hamm; brother, Cletious Thomas Blanton; niece, Wanda Wilkins; and nephew, Carter Blanton.

Services were held on Sunday, Oct. 9, at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Savannah, with Randy Latch and Jo Ann Blanton officiating. Burial followed at Ledbetter Cemetery in Adamsville.
