Marion Fowler Davis, 92, of Waynesboro, passed away from this world peacefully on Tuesday, Aug. 26. She was born on March 10, 1931 in Wayne County, the daughter of the late Lige Walker Fowler and Carrie Willie Thompson Fowler.

Marion was united in holy matrimony with Malcolm Coolidge Davis on June 6, 1948, and together they shared a beautiful journey until his passing on July 25, 1997.

Mrs. Davis dedicated her professional life to Clifton Manufacturing Company, where she served as a line supervisor before retiring. Her devotion extended beyond her career; she was an active and cherished member of the First Presbyterian Church in Clifton. Marion possessed a multitude of talents and passions. She found joy in sewing, cooking and playing bingo. However, it was her unwavering commitment to helping others that defined her remarkable character.

Marion leaves behind a legacy of love and compassion. She is survived by her daughter, Deborah Jane Brackett (Bruce William) of Greer, South Carolina; a sister, Betty Jane Spoerl of Clear Water, Florida; five grandchildren, William F. Brackett, Elizabeth J. Davidoff, Monica Gipson, Matthew Davis and Micah Davis; and five great-grandchildren, Ben Gipson, EllieGrace Gipson, Kye Davis, Coleson Davis, and James William Davidoff.

In addition to her husband and parents, she is preceded in death by a son, Gene Edward Davis; and a brother, Bobby Gene Fowler.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, Sept. 10, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Shackelford Funeral Directors in Waynesboro. Another visitation will take place on Monday, Sept.11, from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, Sept. 11, 10 a.m., at First Presbyterian Church in Clifton, with Clyde Carroll and Tracy Love officiating. Burial will follow in the Clifton Cemetery with Shackelford Funeral Directors assisting the family.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the First Presbyterian Church for the upper rooms.
