Mary Melson (12-14-22) service 12-21-22

Mary Dale Melson, 82, of Savannah, passed away on Wednesday, Dec. 14. She is the daughter of the late Coleman Taft and Gladys May Evans Horton.

She was united in marriage to Romie Jack Melson, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Melson worked at Parris Manufacturing as a line worker and was a caretaker for the elderly. She was a member of Olivet Baptist Church.

She is survived by her daughters, Rhonda Dale Melson Cagle of Ramer, and Denise Pharr Hunt of Franklin, Tennessee; brother, Ancil Horton of Greensburg, Kentucky; three grandchildren; and one great-grandchild.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her sisters, Virginia Johnson and Cornelia Haynes; and brother, Kenneth Horton.

Services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Olivet Baptist Church in Savannah. Burial followed at Wesley’s Chapel United Methodist Church in Savannah.
