Norman Michael, 75, of Adamsville, passed away at his residence on Sunday, April 16. He was born in Florence, Alabama on Nov. 28, 1947, the son of the late Floyd and Lura Michael,

Mr. Michael served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War, enjoyed playing golf, working as a salesman for Wonder Bread for 27 years and traveling. His greatest love was spending time with his family and friends and he will be forever missed by those who loved him.

He is survived by many who will honor his memory, including his son, Danny Overbey; his daughter, Phyllis Watts; his grandchildren, Brandi Hill (Dewight), Jason Overbey (Shannon), Robert Winters (Raina), Heather Boyer (William), Kailey Whirley (Jeremy), and Elizabeth Overbey; 11 great-grandchildren; his nieces, Patricia Davidson, Lisa Wells, Lyndie Cummings and Shannon McFall; and other relatives and a host of friends.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Eddie Overbey; his brothers, Willis Michael, Albert Michael and Waymon Michael; his half brother, Rayford Ward; his sister, Corrine Johnson; his great-grandchild, Ridge Winters; and a niece, Pam Ward.

Visitation is scheduled from 5 – 8 p.m. on Friday, April 21, at Magnolia Funeral Home - East. A memorial service celebrating Norman’s life will be held on Saturday, April 22, 11 a.m., at Magnolia Funeral Home – East, and will be officiated by Chris Gillespie, Rodney Whittemore, and Larry Ball. Pallbearers include John Massengill, Sean Davidson, Zach Davidson, Andrew Davidson, Wayne Winters, John Wells, Keith Roberts and William McFall. Interment with military honors will follow at Magnolia Gardens. Magnolia Funeral Home - East is entrusted with the arrangements.
