Patricia “Pat” Barnett Boyette, 85, of Memphis, peacefully passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, at Baptist Reynolds Hospice House in Collierville, Tennessee, with her daughter, Connie, by her side. She was born August 9, 1937, in Los Angeles, California, to the late Mildred and Woodrow Barnett

Mrs. Boyette lived most of her life in Memphis, where she graduated from Treadwell High School in 1956, and attended Memphis State University. She was an active member of Church of Christ.

She loved all things outdoors, whether it was camping, backpacking or working in her flower beds. She loved to travel. Prague, Costa Rica, Mexico and Romania were among her favorites. She also loved snow skiing in Colorado and New Mexico.

She is survived by her eldest daughter, Connie Rutherford Hill of Memphis; and stepdaughter Mischelle Boyette Gatewood (Harold); two granddaughters, Stephanie Hamlet Turner (Chris) of Kosciusko, Mississippi and Samantha Meghan Hill of New Orleans, Louisiana; and great-grandchildren, Olivia Renee Turner and Brigham Allen Turner.

She was preceded in death by her husband, James “Jim” Boyette in 2019; and her two younger children, Michele Rutherford in 1978, and Joe Rutherford in 1989; and great-grandson Grayson Renee Turner.

She was known as “Nonnie” to her grandchildren and she was extremely proud of her family.

A memorial service will be held on Sunday, Nov. 13, at 1 p.m., at Berclair Church of Christ, 4536 Summer Avenue, Memphis, with food and refreshments provided at 11:45 a.m. in the fellowship hall prior to the service.
