Rachel Lynne Curtis Bowden-Beam, 65, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 7. She was born in Hardin County on Nov. 13, 1956, the daughter of Robbie J. “Jodie” Hamilton Curtis and the late Kenneth “Brink” Curtis. On Oct. 21, 1989, she was united in marriage to Brian Keith Beam, who survives.

Rachel was a member of Living Waters Foursquare Gospel Church. Throughout her life she had worked for Brown Shoe Company, Wise Company, The Rockpile, Owl Creek Sod Farm, CCA, was a private contractor at Fort Polk military base and was also a caregiver. She loved playing pool, loved her grandchildren, and her dogs more than life.

Rachel is survived by her husband, Brian Keith Beam of Savannah; children, Daphne Lynne Wilson and her husband Greg of Panama City, Florida, Tabitha Gail Bowden Austin and her husband Stacey of Michie, Rodney Brink Bowden and his wife Kelly of Savannah, and Kylie Mariah Beam-Talley of Savannah; mother, Robbie J. “Jodie” Curtis of Savannah; grandchildren, Kourtnie Nicole Wilson Trapp, Andrea Gail Brown, Emily Page Wardlow-Melson, Julia Kelsey Bowden-Hall, Lauren Elisabeth Bowden, Alexander Brinkley Bowden, Josie Lynne Bowden and DeAndre Lee Brown; great-grandchildren, Kieran Dean Hall and one on the way, due in January; and special friends, Suzi Counce Bevis, Roger Collier, Dewayne Hardin and his children, Wes and Jake, and Tom and Debbie Campbell.

In addition to her father, Rachel was preceded in death by a grandchild, Dustin Tyler Wilson; sister, Pam Curtis Holloway and her ex-husband, Roger Dale Bowden.

Visitation was held on Tuesday, Aug. 9, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah.
