Roger Don Cole, 71, of Savannah, passed away on Saturday, Oct. 22, in Nashville, Tennessee. He was born in Waynesboro, Tennessee on Aug. 26, 1951, and is the son of the late Don Howard and Della Iris McDonald Cole.

On June 29, 1996 he was united in marriage to Gloria Rebecca Umphrey, who preceded her husband in death on March 2, 2019.

Mr. Cole graduated from Wayne County High School before proudly serving his country in the United States Army. He was self-employed and was the owner and operator of Cole’s Pest Control serving the surrounding counties for 36 years. He was a member of Crossroads Union Church and the VFW in Waynesboro. In his spare time Roger enjoyed fishing, hunting, and watching all sports, especially Tennessee Vols and Tennessee Titans football. One of his favorite topics to discuss was the Bible.

He is survived by his children, Susan Corbell (Cody) of Tarpon Springs, Florida, Misti Bradford (Alisa) of Nashville, Tennessee, Miranda Hunt (Derrick) of Savannah and Morgan Murphy (Jeremy) of Savannah; adopted children, Cherie Cole and Phillip Cole, both of Arkansas; grandchildren, Brittany Williams of New Port Richey, Florida, Christopher Jones of Nashville, Tennessee, Hayleigh Terry (Jacob), Cedrick Pigg, Annie Hunt, Jocelyn Stricklin, Tyler Stricklin, Caleb Murphy, and Caden Murphy, all of Savannah; great-grandchild, Lane Terry of Savannah; brother, Leon Cole of Florence, Alabama; and nephews, Stephen Cole and James Cole, both of Florence, Alabama.

Services were held on Tuesday, Oct. 25, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Timmy Keen officiating. Burial followed at Crossroads Union Cemetery in Savannah.
