Shirley Ann Templeton, 84 of Corinth, Mississippi, passed away on Friday, Sept. 9, at North Mississippi Medical Center in Iuka. She was born May 15, 1938 in Guys, Tennessee, and is the daughter of the late Oather Elam and Lillie Eaker Elam.

Mrs. Templeton retired as nurse at Magnolia Regional Health Center after 30 years of service. She was of Baptist faith and a member of Oakland Baptist Church.

She loved working in her flower garden, making quilt tops, cross stitching and vacationing with her husband on motorcycle. They traveled all over the US, except Alaska and Hawaii, and even traveled parts of Canada. She enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and adored her son and his wife.

She is survived by her husband of 53 years, Tommy Templeton of Corinth, Mississippi; her son, Stanley Templeton and wife Teresa of Corinth, Mississippi; two granddaughters, Valleri Merrill (Jason) and Tori Campbell (Colin); four great-grandchildren, Adelai Merrill, Henrick Merrill, Brendon Campbell and Finnick Campbell; her brother, Billy Elam (Dorothy); and other relatives and a host of friends.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, James Elam; and her sister, Sadie Elam.

A celebration of life service was held on Monday, Sept. 12, at Magnolia Funeral Home of Cornith, Mississippi, in the East Chapel, with Dr. Randy Bostick officiating. Interment followed at Dogwood Cemetery in Cornith, Mississippi, with Kenny Marlar, Ricky Harvill, Dwight Wilson, Franklin Creekmore and Colin Campbell serving as pallbearers.
