Vererly Pitts (12-15-22) service 12-21-22

Veverly Ann Melson Pitts, 63, of Savannah, passed away on Thursday, Dec. 15, in Nashville. She is the daughter of the late Clarence Lester and Bernice Smith Melson.

She was united in marriage to Jerry Loren Pitts, who survives.

Mrs. Pitts worked as a Certified Nurses Assistant for Park Rest Nursing Home in Savannah. She attended Church On The Rock in Savannah.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by her son, Coty Kelly of Memphis, Tennessee; three children whom she raised as her own, Sabriska Pitts and Danny Lee Melson, both of Savannah, and Allison McWilliams of Nashville; and one sister, Linda White of Savannah.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by one brother, David Lee Melson.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Dec. 21, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah, with Brent Colley officiating. Burial followed at White’s Creek Cemetery in Savannah.
