Vernell Johnson (8-6-23) service 8-9-23

Vernell White Johnson, 82, of Adamsville, passed away on Sunday, Aug. 6, the daughter of the late Robert and Tenesy Pearl Moody White.

She was united in marriage to Allen Parker Johnson, who preceded his wife in death.

Ms. Johnson worked at H.I.S. Sportswear as a shirt presser, and at her son’s businesses; Doug’s Cafe, B Mart, and DJ’s Barbecue. She was a member of Lexington Church of Christ.

She is survived by her son, Douglas P. Johnson; daughter, Linda Johnson Tomaszewski; sister, Willie White; two grandchildren, five great-grandchildren, and one stepgranddaughter.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Stanley Allen Johnson; sisters, Geneva Wallace and Nettie Wynnes; and brother, Robert White Jr.

Memorial services were held on Wednesday, Aug. 9, at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah in Savannah, with P.J Hardy officiating. Burial followed at Liberty Cemetery in Decatur County, Tennessee.
