Victoria Elizabeth Weatherly Gallik, 56, of Savannah, passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, Oct. 17. She born Nov. 8th, 1966, the daughter of Marsha Weatherly Jeter and the late Jimmy Clyce Weatherly of Memphis, Tennessee.

Victoria Weatherly Gallik was a loving mother and devout Christian woman. She grew up in Memphis, where she was a member of the local Catholic club where she became an avid swimmer on the local swim team, a lifeguard and a tennis player. Growing up, Vicki was nicknamed “Gospel Vicki,” because of her growing and contagious love for spreading the Word to all. She attended college at Memphis State University and pursued a degree in education.

Vicki began her teaching career in Memphis, working for many years in the Shelby County school system. Vicki spent many years teaching at various schools, positively impacting any child she interacted with. After moving to Savannah in 2008, she spent her time learning science, physical education, and Bible class at Savannah Christian Academy, where she enjoyed teaching and transforming the minds of many children. After retiring from teaching, Vicki worked as a substitute teacher at Hardin County Schools, specifically East Hardin Elementary, where she was influential in the development of many students.

Vicki was a member of Sharon Baptist Church, where she taught Sunday school and impacted and inspired many through her courage, strength, wisdom and kindness. Even in her sickness, she inspired many and formed a cancer prayer group. Vicki loved opening up her home to many prayer sessions and youth group events where she enjoyed watching kids fish and learn about the Word.

In her retirement, Vicki was passionate about spreading the Word far and wide. She spent a few summers in Alaska, spreading the Gospel and enjoying the vast nature. Vicki met many kids and adults along the way, which helped develop her into the caring and strong woman many of us grew to love.

Victoria is survived by her three children, Tanner Elizabeth Gallik, Trey Gallik and Jacob Paul Gallik; her mother, Marsha Weatherly Jeter; and two brothers, Jimmy Clyce Weatherly Jr and Robert Scott Watkins.

In addition to her father, she was also preceded in death by her stepfather, Danel C. Jeter.

Family was the most essential component of Vicki’s life. She had countless friends she loved dearly, many of whom became part of her family. She enjoyed being with family, her friends, her pets, and nature, especially sunsets at the river. Vicki never met a stranger and left everyone smiling, no matter the situation.

Vicki’s celebration of life services will be held Saturday, Nov. 4, at 1 p.m., at Sharon Baptist Church, with visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Her family requests that, in lieu of flowers, contributions be made to the Vicki Weatherly Gallik Memorial Scholarship Fund. This scholarship will be awarded yearly to a Hardin County graduate who most exhibits a servant’s heart. Contributions may be sent to the Vicki Weatherly Gallik Memorial Scholarship Fund at 200 Nellie Lane, Savannah, TN 38372.

In memory of Victoria Elizabeth Weatherly Gallik, we celebrate a life lived to its fullest, full of unwavering love for the Lord, her kids, brothers and parents. Let us all remember the tremendous memories, love and service we shared with and of Vicki. She may have left this temporary space on earth, but until we meet again in heaven, we will cherish the memories you left us with.

Bates-Love Funeral and Cremation is honored to serve the family of Vicki Gallik.
