Virginia Evelyn Lineberry Moore, 96, of Savannah, passed away on Sunday, March 19, the daughter of the late Ethridge and Vallie Opal Waters Lineberry.

She was united in marriage to Lon Edward Moore, who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Moore was a school teacher. She also worked for Frank Hughes School as a foster grandparent. In her later years, she was a sewing machine operator for Clifton Manufacturing. She was a member of Riverside Methodist Church, where she served as treasurer. She was also a member of Eastern Star.

She is survived by her son, Dennis H. Moore of Savannah; sisters, Audrey Winters of Nashville, Tennessee, Willie Ann McPeake of Lexington, Tennessee, Doris June Wendell of Williamsburg, Virginia, Patricia Chesnut of Brentwood, Tennessee, and Margie N. McGahey of Nashville, Tennessee; brothers, Ethridge Rex Lineberry of Savannah, and Dexter Leon Lineberry of Linden, Tennessee.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Charlie Wilburn Lineberry.

Services will be held on Thursday, March 23, 1 p.m., at Shackelford Funeral Directors of Savannah. Burial will follow at Clifton Cemetery in Clifton.
