William Alton Browder Sr., 86, of Savannah, passed away on Monday, Nov. 6. He was born in McNairy County, Tennessee the son of the late William Thomas Browder and Cleo Florence Callens Crotts.

On June 19, 1955, he was united in marriage to Vivian Adaire Lawson, who survives.

William retired around 2003 from the Packaging Corporation of America, where he worked as an electrician. He was a member of Mt. Zion Church of Christ in Savannah. William was a member of the IBEW Union. In his spare time he enjoyed flying model airplanes, bee keeping and cattle farming. He was a pilot and flew single engine planes. William was a radio buff, he loved all kinds, and he enjoyed talking on his CB.

In addition to his wife of 68 years, Vivian Adaire Browder of Savannah, William is survived by his daughter, Vivian Ann Carden of Monrovia, Maryland; grandchildren, Heather Browder, Bryan Browder, Ashley Browder and Frances Smith; and brother, James Arnold Browder of Savannah.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his son, William Alton Browder Jr.; sister, Mary Elizabeth McLemore; and grandson, William Alton Browder, III.

Memorial services were held on Thursday, Nov. 9, at Mount Zion Church Of Christ in Savannah, with Gilbert Gough officiating. Burial followed at Memory Gardens in Savannah.
